It came to me in a dream so vivid I woke up with my heart racing, knowing I'd just been given something sacred. But here's what shattered me: I realized I'd been having this same dream my entire life.
What started as a simple thought — "this could be an interesting short story" — became something that refused to stay small. Then the universe started speaking back.
Strangers on the street would say lines I'd written the night before. I was telling my friend about the dream, about how this incredible story was coming through me, about the importance of numbers and symbols in the narrative. Mid-sentence, she grabbed my arm. "Turn around. Look through the window."
There, floating impossibly against the sky, was a blue balloon in the perfect shape of a number 3 — or the Cyrillic letter Z. My name. My main character's name. The universe had literally sent me a sign while I was explaining the signs.
That's when I knew this wasn't just my story anymore. Reality itself was weaving this multiverse into existence. Not just one book — six. An entire cosmos unfolding through a thousand small miracles.
It found me the year I stopped lying to myself. The year I let everything that wasn't truly me burn to ash so I could finally meet who I'd always been underneath the costume of who I thought I should be.
